Please read these terms carefully before enrolling in or attending any Brightledger workshop or programme. By using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms carry the meanings set out below:
- "Agreement" means these Terms and Conditions, together with any enrolment confirmation and workshop materials provided to you.
- "Service" means all workshops, programmes, toolkits, community access, and related educational content offered by Brightledger.
- "User" / "You" means any individual who accesses our website, attends a workshop, or enrols in any programme offered by Brightledger.
- "We / Us / Our" refers to Brightledger, registered and operating from No. 10, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, 93000 Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
- "Content" means all printed materials, digital worksheets, checklists, slides, and educational resources provided during or in connection with our workshops.
- "Participant" means any individual confirmed as enrolled in a specific workshop or programme session.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By completing an enrolment form, making payment, or attending any Brightledger session, you confirm that you:
- Are at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian where applicable;
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
- Have read and understood these Terms in full; and
- Agree to be bound by these Terms for the duration of your engagement with our services.
If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, please do not proceed with enrolment or attendance.
3. Service Description
Brightledger provides general money education workshops and programmes in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. Our current offerings include:
- Confidence Workshop (RM 470) — A warm, judgement-free session helping participants feel calmer and clearer about everyday money matters, with simple steps and printable checklists.
- Confidence Toolkit & Community (RM 1,440) — A collection of reflective worksheets, checklists, and access to a supportive community for sharing everyday money-confidence wins.
- Confidence Building Programme (RM 4,050) — A multi-week general-education programme building everyday money confidence through learning, reflection, and group support, including materials and a certificate of attendance.
All services are provided as general education and information only. Nothing provided by Brightledger constitutes financial, investment, legal, or professional advice of any kind. Service availability is subject to scheduling and capacity. We reserve the right to modify, reschedule, or discontinue sessions with reasonable notice.
4. Enrolment & Accounts
To participate in our workshops or programmes, you may be required to register and provide accurate personal details. You agree to:
- Provide truthful, current, and complete information during registration;
- Maintain the confidentiality of any login credentials or access links shared with you;
- Promptly notify us of any changes to your contact or payment information;
- Not share access with individuals who have not enrolled or paid for the relevant session.
We reserve the right to cancel or suspend your enrolment if we have reason to believe that your registration details are inaccurate or that these Terms have been violated.
5. User Responsibilities
As a participant, you agree to engage respectfully and constructively. The following conduct is not permitted at any Brightledger session or community space:
- Disruptive, hostile, or disrespectful behaviour towards facilitators or fellow participants;
- Sharing, recording, or distributing workshop materials, sessions, or community discussions without prior written permission;
- Using workshop spaces or community platforms for commercial solicitation or promotional purposes;
- Misrepresenting your identity or credentials;
- Any activity that may cause harm, distress, or embarrassment to other participants or to Brightledger.
We reserve the right to remove any participant from a session or community for conduct that we, in our reasonable judgement, consider to be in breach of these standards.
6. Intellectual Property
All materials, content, and resources provided through our workshops and programmes — including checklists, worksheets, slides, and written guides — are the intellectual property of Brightledger or our licensed content partners.
Upon enrolment, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use these materials for your own private, non-commercial learning purposes only. You may not:
- Reproduce, copy, or distribute workshop materials in any form;
- Adapt, translate, or create derivative works from our content;
- Sell, sub-licence, or commercially exploit any materials received from us.
Any feedback, ideas, or suggestions you voluntarily share with us may be used by Brightledger without restriction or compensation to you.
7. Payment & Refunds
Payment: All fees are quoted and payable in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR/RM). Full payment is required to confirm your enrolment. We accept payment via methods communicated at the time of booking. Fees are inclusive of applicable taxes where required by Malaysian law.
Refund Policy:
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before the scheduled start date are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before the start date are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made fewer than 7 days before the start date are non-refundable.
- If Brightledger cancels or reschedules a session, you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative date.
Refund requests should be directed to [email protected]. We aim to process all eligible refunds within 14 business days.
8. Workshop-Specific Terms
Attendance: Participants are encouraged to attend all scheduled sessions. We do not offer make-up sessions for missed classes unless otherwise stated at the time of enrolment.
Certificate of Attendance: A certificate of attendance is provided upon completion of the Confidence Building Programme. This certificate recognises your participation in a general education programme and does not constitute a professional qualification or accreditation of any kind.
Community Access: Access to community platforms is provided for peer support and sharing. We moderate community spaces and reserve the right to remove content or participants that do not meet our conduct standards.
Programme Changes: We may update workshop content, facilitators, schedules, or venues where reasonably necessary. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any significant changes.
9. Disclaimers
All Brightledger workshops and materials are provided strictly as general educational content. We make no representations or warranties as to the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of the information shared for any particular purpose.
- Brightledger does not provide financial, investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice. Nothing communicated in our sessions should be construed as such.
- Participation in our workshops does not create a professional adviser-client relationship of any kind.
- Individual outcomes from applying any ideas discussed in our workshops will vary depending on personal circumstances, effort, and other factors entirely outside our control.
- Our services are provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under Malaysian law, Brightledger and its facilitators, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of our services;
- Financial decisions made on the basis of general educational content shared in our workshops;
- Any loss of income, savings, or opportunity connected to your participation in our programmes;
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural events, government restrictions, or technical failures (force majeure).
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific workshop or programme giving rise to the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Brightledger, its staff, facilitators, and contractors from and against any claims, losses, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your misuse of our services or materials; or (c) any conduct during workshops or community spaces that results in harm or loss to another participant or to Brightledger.
12. Termination
Either party may end this agreement:
- By you: By notifying us in writing at [email protected] and discontinuing your participation in our services, subject to the refund policy in Section 7.
- By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to our services immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in disruptive conduct, or where continuation would be unlawful.
Upon termination, your licence to use workshop materials ceases. Provisions that by their nature survive termination — including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — shall remain in effect.
13. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia, including the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and other applicable Malaysian legislation.
Informal Resolution: We encourage you to raise any concerns with us first by contacting [email protected]. We commit to responding within 10 business days and to working in good faith toward a fair resolution.
Jurisdiction: If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. Nothing in this clause limits your rights as a consumer under Malaysian law.
14. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with your enrolment confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Brightledger regarding the services described herein.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may transfer our obligations to a successor entity without restriction.
- Notices: Formal notices to Brightledger should be sent by email to [email protected] or by post to our address in Section 16.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we do:
- The updated Terms will be published on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date;
- Where changes are material, we will endeavour to notify enrolled participants by email;
- Your continued participation in our services after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, please discontinue your use of our services and contact us regarding any outstanding enrolments.
