Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies are, how Brightledger uses them on our website, and the choices you have. We believe in being straightforward about how our site works.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They help the site remember information about you across page loads — such as your language preference or whether you've already seen a notice. Cookies do not contain viruses and cannot run programmes on your device.

Websites use cookies to improve how they work, understand how visitors use their pages, and occasionally to show relevant information. You remain in control and can manage or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.

2. Cookie Types We Use

Essential Cookies Always Active

These are required for the basic operation of our website. Without them, some pages may not load or function correctly. They cannot be switched off. Examples include cookies that remember your cookie consent choice and maintain basic session security.

Analytics Cookies Optional

Help us understand how visitors interact with our site — which pages are most visited, how people navigate, and where we can improve. Data collected is aggregated and does not personally identify you. Examples include Google Analytics cookies.

Marketing Cookies Optional

Allow us to understand the reach of our online presence and improve how we communicate about our workshops. These may be set by third-party platforms such as social media networks to help us measure the effectiveness of our outreach.

Preference Cookies Optional

Remember settings and choices you make on our site, such as language or region preferences, so we can provide a more personalised experience on your return visits.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our site are set by third-party services we use to support our website. These include:

  • Google Analytics — helps us understand page traffic and visitor behaviour in aggregated, anonymous form.
  • Google Maps — used to display our workshop location on the map embedded in our contact page.
  • Social media platforms — where we use sharing or follow buttons, those platforms may set their own cookies.

Third-party cookies are governed by the privacy and cookie policies of those providers. We do not have direct control over them.

4. Cookie Duration

  • Session cookies — active only while your browser is open. Deleted automatically when you close your browser tab or window.
  • Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period, typically between 30 days and 2 years depending on their purpose. You can delete them at any time through your browser.

Your cookie consent preference is stored locally on your device via localStorage and does not expire unless you clear your browser data.

5. Your Cookie Preferences

You can manage your cookie choices below. Essential cookies are always active as they are needed for the site to function. Changes take effect immediately and are saved to your device.

6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings. Below are guides for the most common browsers. Note that disabling some cookies may affect how parts of our site function.

  2. Go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data.
  3. Choose your preferred option or select See all cookies and site data to delete specific cookies.

  2. Click Manage Website Data to see and remove stored cookies.

Mobile browsers: Cookie settings are usually found under your browser's Settings or Privacy menu. The steps above generally apply to mobile versions of Chrome and Safari as well.

7. Your Rights

Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), you have rights regarding personal data collected through our site, including the right to:

  • Withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time using the controls above or through your browser;
  • Request access to personal data we hold that is collected via cookies;
  • Ask us to correct or delete personal data where that is required by law.

Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect your browsing experience on our site. If you have any questions about how we handle cookies or personal data, contact us at [email protected].
